About the Role

Meagan Bebenek Foundation a registered Canadian charity focused on creating a world where no children suffer from brain tumours. We are seeking a volunteer to support the planning and day of execution of our signature HUG Event in the capacity of Spirit Team Co-Lead. Working with your co-lead, you will be responsible to recruit and organize volunteers to cheer on participants along the walk route.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual with strong leadership and communication skills. They will be local to the Toronto area or willing to travel at their own expense to be present on event day - May 11, 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a difference in the community but can’t commit to a year-round volunteer arrangement.

Requirements

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in regular event planning meetings (approximately 2 per month)

  • Working in partnership with HUG Team to determining resourcing needs and route placement

  • Perform outreach to local schools and community groups to solicit event day volunteers

  • Ensure all supplies (pom poms, signs etc.) are ready to go day of event

  • Provide a list of participants & drop off locations to the Transportation Team Lead

  • Provide instructions to volunteers outlining expectations leading up to the event

  • Meet day of volunteers onsite on event day to take attendance and answer any last minute questions

  • Collect all supplies from volunteers at the conclusion of the event



Time Commitment:

  • 3 to 5hours / month (January to May)

  • In person participation at HUG Event
