Anthony

Anthony, born on July 12, 2004, began experiencing symptoms of a brain tumour just before his third birthday. The tumour was closely monitored with MRIs, and continued to grow slowly. In October 2010, treatment became necessary, leading Anthony to endure an intense 70 weeks of chemotherapy. Anthony remained stable from May 2012 until January 2016. He remained stable until January 2016 when further treatment was required. Although the initial chemotherapy on a clinical trial proved ineffective, radiation therapy was able to shrink the tumour, providing a period of stability in October 2016. During this time, Anthony showed no new growth or symptoms, instilling confidence in his doctors that his health had stabilized.

However, in February 2017, a routine MRI revealed that the tumour had spread extensively throughout Anthony's brain stem and had reached the top of his spinal cord, leading to a revised diagnosis of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Symptoms emerged by July, and as the months passed, his condition deteriorated, leaving him bedridden by the end of August. Anthony passed away on September 28, 2017. He was just 13 years old.

Throughout his life, Anthony found joy in road trips and exploring new places. Family vacations held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed arts and crafts, helping his friends, but above all he loved his sister dearly. Anthony wished for his family to remember him and continue living by the values of simplicity he held dear. Moreover, he hoped they would carry on his legacy of supporting MBF.
